Job summary

NHS Tayside is seeking a Specialist Dietitian (Band 6) based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, to provide expert nutritional care to surgical patients within an Integrated Adult Hospital Team.

The role offers leadership opportunities, supervision of junior dietitians, and involvement in service development and education. HCPC registration is essential, with fixed-term/secondment arrangements and a 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required to practice as a dietitian.
• Band 6 experience or progression to Band 6 from Band 5 is desirable.
• Experience in surgical services or hospital-based dietetics is preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist clinical expertise within Surgical Services for adults.
• Lead service improvements and contribute to clinical pathway development.
• Supervise and develop Band 5 rotational dietitians and support workers.
• Provide education and support to the multidisciplinary team.
• Manage a varied clinical caseload and influence practice.
• Promote learning and development opportunities within the team.
