The Role

As a Diesel Gas Path Engineer, you will support the development of engine / aftertreatment physical base system engineering. You will ensure adherence to specified engineering methods, tools, and aids, and support vehicle and domain teams in understanding integrated propulsion functions.

Your responsibilities:

• Work on requirements and ensure targets are delivered on-cycle to programmes.
• Develop and update system artifacts (MBSE models, use case analysis, LAD, FFA/DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP, requirements, standards).
• Deliver new functions via SOC and FSOI processes.
• Identify, report, and resolve system compatibility issues.
• Chair technical reviews and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Develop methods and conduct studies into future technologies.
• Analyze emission test cycles and resolve related issues.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Experience in electrified propulsion systems like MHEV, PHEV.
• Strong background in Emissions/Gas Path/Aftertreatment.
• Experience with emissions testing and calibration.
• Understanding of core systems integration, including Aftertreatment and Gas Path.
• Calibrating diesel engines for emissions on dyno.
• Knowledge of emission regulations and calibration techniques.
• Understanding of ICE engine chemistry and sensor control.
• CAE experience with vehicle and propulsion systems, including Simulink modeling.
• Experience with test case definition and DoE for various testing environments.
• Full UK or equivalent driving license.
• Knowledge of 6 sigma methods and data statistics.
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Previous experience in emission calibration and powertrain systems engineering.
• Understanding of MHEV systems and calibration on test cycles.
• Exposure to vehicle CAE and subsystems modeling.
• Specialization in Emissions, After-treatment, Gas-path, Base engines, HV Systems, Torque, and Energy Arbitration.
