Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment are seeking a Diesel Engineer for a North of Scotland role covering Inverness and surrounding sites. You will service and repair generators and pumping equipment on customer sites and travel as required.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on generator experience, fault finding, maintenance and repair skills, and a full driving licence. Salary £34,000 per annum with company van and tools provided; 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Service Engineer with autonomy and initiative.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and pumps.
• Experience with fault finding, diagnosis, maintenance and repair.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel within Inverness area.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment on customer sites and respond to call-outs.
• Collaborate with Hire Controller, Driver and Fitters to ensure smooth hires.
• Repair and maintain generators.
• Service, repair and overhaul equipment at depot and on site.
• Assist loading/unloading of pumps and generators using Hi-Ab crane and forklift.
• Travel throughout the North of Scotland as required.

Job description

Position: Diesel Engineer

Location: Dalcross, Inverness

Salary: £34,000

My client is a leading supplier and maintainer of Pumping and Power Generation equipment across England. They are looking to bring on board a Regional Service Engineer to look after their Power Generation sets across the North of Scotland. The ideal candidate will have hands on Generator Experience, will have experience across fault finding, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of Pumping or Power systems and will be based locally to Inverness.

You will need a full Driving licence for this position.

Service Engineer Position Overview

• To service equipment on customer sites and to respond to call-outs when needed
• To work closely with the Hire Controller, Driver and Fitters to ensure all hires proceed smoothly
• To work on the repair and maintenance of Generators
• To service, repair and overhaul equipment and associated components both within the depot, at customer premises and third-party sites
• To assist with the loading and unloading of pumps and generators onto the lorry for deliveries through the use of Hi-Ab Lorry Mounted Crane and Forklift Truck
• Travelling throughout the North of Scotland as required

Service Engineer Position Requirements

• Previous experience in a Service Engineer position essential with the ability to work autonomously
• Strong working knowledge of Diesel Engines and Pumps
• First-hand experience with Fault Finding, Diagnosis, Maintenance and Repair
• ECS Card / CSCS Card desirable
• Full Driving licence
• Based within a commutable distance of Inverness

Service Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary £34,000 per annum
• Company Van, Fuel card, Specialist Tools provided
• 40 hours a week Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30
• 33 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
• Pension
