Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Diesel Engineer to service and maintain pumping and power generation equipment across Peterborough and surrounding Cambridgeshire. A full driving licence is required and hands-on generator experience is preferred.

You will travel to customer sites, work with depot staff, and support loading and unloading operations. The role involves fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of diesel engines and pumps, with a typical 34k–38k salary plus company van and

• Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough.

Responsibilities

• Service equipment on customer sites and respond to call-outs as needed.
• Coordinate with Hire Controller, Driver and Fitters to ensure smooth hires.
• Repair and maintain generators.
• Service, repair and overhaul equipment at depot, customer premises and third-party sites.
• Assist with loading/unloading of pumps and generators using Hi-Ab crane and forklift.
• Travel across Peterborough/Cambridgeshire as required.

Job description

Position: Diesel Engineer

Location: Peterborough

Salary: £34,000 - £38,000

My client is a leading supplier and maintainer of Pumping and Power Generation equipment across England. They are looking to bring on board a Regional Service Engineer to look after their Power Generation sets across Cambridgeshire. The ideal candidate will have hands on Generator Experience, will have experience across fault finding, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of Pumping or Power systems and will be based locally to Peterborough.

You will need a full Driving licence for this position.

Overview

• To service equipment on customer sites and to respond to call-outs when needed
• To work closely with the Hire Controller, Driver and Fitters to ensure all hires proceed smoothly
• To work on the repair and maintenance of Generators
• To service, repair and overhaul equipment and associated components both within the depot, at customer premises and third-party sites
• To assist with the loading and unloading of pumps and generators onto the lorry for deliveries through the use of Hi-Ab Lorry Mounted Crane and Forklift Truck
• Travelling throughout the Peterborough / Cambridgeshire as required

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Service Engineer position essential with the ability to work autonomously
• Strong working knowledge of Diesel Engines and Pumps
• First-hand experience with Fault Finding, Diagnosis, Maintenance and Repair
• ECS Card / CSCS Card desirable
• Full Driving licence
• Based within a commutable distance of Peterborough

Remuneration

• Salary £34,000 - £38,000 per annum
• Company Van, Fuel card, Specialist Tools provided
• 40 hours a week Monday - Friday 8:00 - 16:30
• 33 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
