Job summary

Ganymede is seeking a Field Service Engineer to diagnose faults on diesel engines, download ECU data, and apply condition monitoring to prevent faults. You will work as a product expert to ensure performance and availability of diesel engines in rolling stock, delivering value in client-facing roles.

The role covers travel from London to Swindon and Bristol to Swindon with occasional trips to London or Bristol. London uplift applies; 40 hours/week with company van, laptop and phone provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 or higher with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines or propulsion systems.
• Demonstrable fault and remote diagnostics experience; conditioning skills.
• Experience in marine, rail, automotive, HGV or bus sectors accepted.
• Qualified to undertake medical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnostics on diesel engines and associated electrical control technology.
• Download and analyse data from ECUs and perform remote diagnostics.
• Apply condition monitoring to identify likely faults before physical inspection.
• Provide technical support and customer service at client locations.
• Maintain safe working practices in highly safety‑critical environments.
