Job summary

Cardiff North Dialysis Unit, a 32-station haemodialysis unit run by B Braun Avitum in partnership with the NHS Trust, invites applications for a dialysis nurse post. You will assess and care for patients during their treatment, and coordinate with the unit link role and the multidisciplinary team while mentoring colleagues and student nurses.

The post operates on a 3:1 patient-to-nurse rota from Monday to Saturday with no Sunday or night shifts.

Qualifications

• RGN qualification and current NMC registration.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
• Nursing experience in direct patient care.

Job description

This dialysis nurse post sits at Cardiff North Dialysis Unit, a 32-station haemodialysis unit that B Braun Avitum runs in partnership with the NHS Trust. The work centres on assessing and caring for patients through their treatment, coordinating with the unit link role and the multidisciplinary team, and mentoring colleagues and student nurses. The unit works a protected 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio on a rolling Monday-to-Saturday rota with no Sunday or night shifts, and offers a preceptorship for newly qualified nurses and those returning to practice. Current NMC registration is required.

What the job involves

• Build theoretical knowledge and practical skills in caring for dialysis patients
• Assess patients' care needs and coordinate with the unit link role and multidisciplinary team to secure their optimum care
• Act as a mentor and resource to the team, supporting patients, qualified nurses, ancillary staff and student nurses to share knowledge and skills
• Build and maintain professional relationships with patients and Trust staff, supporting partnership with B Braun Avitum UK Ltd

Qualifications
