Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a Diagnostic Technician (Mechanic) at the Volkswagen Van Centre Manchester. The role offers a basic salary circa £43,500 per annum with uncapped OTE and a £1,000 sign-on bonus payable after 30 days, plus staged payments after 90 days and 6 months.

Experienced technicians may qualify for welcome bonuses totalling £2,500. You’ll perform high-quality maintenance and repairs, inspect vehicle components, and provide expert technical advice while upholding excellent

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
Proven problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Valid UK driving licence (MOT licence advantageous).

Responsibilities

Perform high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs following manufacturer standards.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicle components to assess wear or damage.
Provide expert technical advice to customers with clear communication.
Maintain exceptional customer service standards to foster trust and repeat business.
Collaborate with service reception and workshop control for smooth workflow.
Support fellow Technicians with knowledge sharing.
