Autotech Recruit in Southampton is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join a busy aftersales team at a renowned automotive retailer. You will diagnose, service, and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards, using fault-finding skills and specialist diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Experience as a Diagnostic Technician in a dealership or workshop.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to use manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Provide accurate diagnostic reports after vehicle health checks.
• Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop tasks.
• Service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems.
• Source and order parts as needed and complete job cards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
• Communicate findings and updates to customers as required.

Salary: £37,000 – £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm

An established automotive retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its busy aftersales team in Southampton. Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and rectify complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
• Perform detailed vehicle health checks and provide accurate diagnostic reports.
• Complete MOT-related repairs and general workshop repairs.
• Service, diagnose and repair air conditioning systems.
• Undertake welding repairs where required.
• Source and order parts necessary to complete repairs efficiently.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
• Communicate technical findings and vehicle updates when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
• Work efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.

Requirements

• Relevant Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent automotive qualification.
• Previous experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Well-organised with the ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
