Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an HCPC-registered Diagnostic Radiographer to join the Sonographer development pathway. The post-holder will work in the General X-Ray Service at Rugby St Cross Hospital for a minimum of 12 months, building essential radiographic skills.

After development, you will progress to postgraduate ultrasound training with supervised clinical practice.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration required and maintained; ongoing CPD.
• Minimum of 2 years post-graduate radiography experience at application.
• Ultrasound education progression pathway embedded within the role.
• Maintenance of HCPC registration and engagement in professional development.

Responsibilities

• Work in General X-Ray Service at Rugby St Cross Hospital for 12 months, providing high-quality diagnostic imaging.
• Perform a range of general radiographic examinations with safe, patient-centred care.
• Support service delivery across Imaging Department, including theatre and emergency imaging.
• Develop clinical knowledge to progress onto Ultrasound training pathway.
• Participate in departmental rotas, including out-of-hours and on-call duties.
• Upon development, undertake postgraduate ultrasound training and supervised practice to qualify as an Advanced Practitioner Sonographer.
