Job summary

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Radiographer to perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations, primarily general X-rays, while upholding high patient care and safety standards. Qualifications

• Qualified radiographer at Band 5 level.
• Ability to perform general X-ray examinations.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call duties.
• Commitment to infection prevention and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations (mainly general X-rays) safely and accurately.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent.
• Position patients correctly to produce high-quality images.
• Operate imaging equipment following departmental protocols and safety standards.
• Follow radiation protection guidelines to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Check images for quality before reporting.
• Carry out daily equipment checks and maintain IPC standards.
• Complete QA procedures in line with requirements.
• Liaise with radiologists and clinicians as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate patient records in line with NHS policies.
• Participate in shift work including nights and weekends.
