Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations (mainly general X-rays) safely and accurately.
  • Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent.
  • Position patients correctly to produce high-quality images.
  • Operate imaging equipment following departmental protocols and safety standards.
  • Follow radiation protection guidelines to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Check images for quality before submission for reporting.
  • Carry out daily equipment checks.
  • Maintain IPC standards and clean equipment and areas.
  • Complete QA procedures per departmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Check and maintain the crash trolley.
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team with radiologists and clinicians.
  • Maintain accurate patient records per NHS policies.
  • Rotate through department areas (e.g., A&E, inpatients, outpatients, theatre).

Job summary

As a Band 5 Radiographer at Hillingdon Hospital, you will perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations, including general X-rays, while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. Main duties of the job
