Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated care assistant to support patients with diabetes within the multidisciplinary team across Somerset. The role involves 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with days agreed on appointment.
Experience in care settings is advantageous; full training and mandatory updates will be provided. Band 3, Fixed Term, 6 months, with opportunities for professional development and NHS benefits.

Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be a Vocational NVQ, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience
Ability to prioritise work, to work independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of Diabetes as a Chronic condition and potential for associated health complications.
Knowledge of clinical audit processes
Experience of working in a healthcare setting
Experience of lone working, working on own initiative.
Experience of working in a team.
Experience in patient facing roles and caring for people with additional needs.
Awareness of NHS supply ordering and procurement process
Willingness to use technology to improve standards of care and support to our patients
Ability to work flexibly to meet the demands and requirements of the role. Hours usually Monday- Friday, very occasional evening work to facilitate
Excellent Organisational skills
Basic counselling skills training.
Experience in Excel spreadsheets
