Job summary

UHNM is seeking a Specialist Diabetes Nurse to provide expert care and guidance across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The post supports CNS colleagues, develops specialist knowledge, and delivers evidence-based practice with a focus on patient-centred diabetes management.

You will work autonomously, manage your own caseload, run nurse-led clinics and contribute to MDT activity while supervising junior staff and promoting high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level appropriate for a registered nurse.
• NMC registration is required to practice.
• Portfolio of CPD activities in relevant areas shows ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support CNS team to deliver evidence-based diabetes care across settings.
• Provide expert guidance and education to patients, carers and staff.
• Work autonomously, manage own caseload, run nurse-led clinics and support MDT clinics.
• Supervise junior team members and contribute to skill development within the team.
• Identify local health needs in diabetes care and contribute to service improvement.
