Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Biosite in Solihull is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to shape the DevOps function and guide a team of engineers. You will define standards across cloud infrastructure, IaC, CI/CD, and security, while driving automation and platform reliability.

Collaboration with software and product teams is essential as you enable scalable, secure environments for development and production. You will mentor engineers, promote best practices, and play a key role in recruitment and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing cloud infrastructure, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, containerized platforms, and modern DevOps toolchains.
• Deep technical background in DevOps, cloud operations, and cloud security with secure-by-design practices and mature operations.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting in complex production environments.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing engineers and promoting engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction of the DevOps function, defining standards and architecture across cloud infrastructure, IaC, CI/CD, observability and security.
• Design, deliver and continuously improve scalable, secure cloud platforms for development, testing and production.
• Drive operational excellence through reliability, performance, security, governance, monitoring and cost optimization.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the DevOps team and contribute to recruitment and onboarding.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product teams and stakeholders to deliver technical solutions and support improvements.
