Job summary

The Athletic Media Company in London is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale internal tools, improving availability and engineering productivity.

You will work with Terraform, AWS services and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver a world-class sports media platform with high reliability and performance.

You will own code quality through testing, participate in scrum ceremonies, and help triage live incidents to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Terraform and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of AWS products (Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, ECS, CloudFront, S3, IAM).
• Experience with high availability websites.
• Experience with Cloud CDN tools like Fastly and Cloudflare.

Responsibilities

• Develop new features based on specifications, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Contribute to and engage in our scrum process with sprint planning, review, retrospectives and daily standups.
• Understand technical requirements and collaborate with engineers to deliver a world-class product.
• Fix live bugs and triage issues to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Validate quality through manual and automated testing; own code through lifecycle to live.
