Job summary

Netcompany is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to implement and support improvements, enhance software quality, and accelerate delivery times. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team spanning Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, and UCD, applying best practices for a unified customer focus.

The role requires strong DevOps tooling experience, AWS expertise, CI/CD pipeline maintenance, and proficiency with Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Java-based builds.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
  • Experience with .NET/C# and multiple databases.
  • Experience with monitoring tools for reliability and performance.
  • Kubernetes & Helm for container orchestration and packaging.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud and Jenkins for pipelines.
  • Database schema change management such as Liquibase.
  • Python scripting for automation.
  • Understanding of GitOps principles.
  • Experience with Java & Maven builds.
  • Automation, proactive monitoring, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Willingness to travel and right to work in the UK; ability to attain UK Security Clearance.

Job Description

Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
  • Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
  • Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
  • 5+ Years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
  • Experience in .NET/C#
  • Experienced with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture and integration
  • Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Kubernetes & Helm: Strong understanding of container orchestration with Kubernetes and package management using Helm.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud.
  • CI/CD: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins.
  • Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase).
  • Scripting: Ability to write automation scripts in Python
  • GitOps: Understanding of GitOps principles.
  • Java & Maven: Experience with Java programming and Maven for builds.
  • Core Principles: A mindset focused on automation, proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and defining best practices.
  • Must have willingness to travel
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Must be able to attain a UK Security Clearance
