Job summary

Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a DevOps Engineer to work at a leading Defence client on a contract basis.

The successful candidate will work in a hands-on rolethat combines technicalengineering with leadership, ownership, and mentoring. You’ll work closelywith engineering teams, stakeholders, and customersto deliver secure, scalable, and reliablesolutions.

Responsibilities include:

Design, build, maintain, and supportCI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks,and containerised environments.

Take ownership of engineering work packages from planningand estimation throughto delivery andreporting.

Develop and reviewInfrastructure as Code, automation solutions,and technical documentation.

Implement DevOps solutions acrosssecure environments, ensuringthey meet performance, reliability, and securityrequirements.

Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to DevOps Engineers and Technicians.

Work collaboratively withproject teams, stakeholders, and customers tounderstand requirementsand deliver effectivetechnical solutions.

Contribute to engineering standards, governance, and best practice.

Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across the development and delivery lifecycle.

Experience required:

A demonstrable background in DevOps engineering which includes a strong understanding ofCI/CD principlesand version control,particularlyGit.

Hands-on experiencewith automation andInfrastructure as Codetools such asAnsibleandTerraform.

Proficiency in oneor more scriptinglanguages, such asPython, Bash, orPowerShell.

Practical knowledge of containerisation technologies, includingDocker and Kubernetes.

Familiarity with cloudplatforms such asAWS and/orAzure.

An understanding ofcyber security principlesand secure systemdelivery.

The ability totake ownership oftechnical solutions andcommunicate effectivelywith both technicaland non-technicalstakeholders.
