Job summary

Home Office is seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance reliability and performance of critical platforms in a hybrid Manchester role. You will guide CI/CD, automate deployment and help secure and optimize cloud resources while mentoring junior developers.

With security clearance (SC) required, you’ll work on in-house automation, cyber security tooling, and cross-team collaboration to ensure scalable, compliant operations in a busy government environment.

Qualifications

• Strong DevOps foundation with cloud, IaC and monitoring experience.
• Experience securing, deploying and scaling cloud resources.
• Ability to guide CI/CD practices and automation.
• Familiarity with monitoring, incident response and security enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical support and resolve platform issues.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge.
• Develop, maintain and improve in-house automation platforms and scripts.
• Contribute to monitoring activities and performance/security enhancements.
• Onboard new systems into Cyber Security environment.
• Develop and improve Cyber Security tooling and services.
• Support Cyber Security teams with technical expertise and advice.
