Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a DevOps Engineer to own and operate GitHub, CI/CD, and software delivery platforms. You’ll lead enterprise GitHub governance and high‑availability workloads, while promoting Copilot and AI‑assisted development from a central platform perspective.

Work spans design, automation, and guidance across engineering teams. You’ll join a central platform engineering team focused on secure, scalable tooling and fast delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands-on GitHub administration with enterprise governance and scale enablement.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Hands-on experience managing and automating AWS infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with Helm for Kubernetes packaging and deployment.
• Solid Linux fundamentals and operational support skills.
• Proven experience designing, operating, or supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and logging for cloud-native systems.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform and IaC best practices.
• Design, build, and operate containerized platforms using Docker and EKS.
• Design, build, and manage CI/CD platforms and tooling (GitHub Enterprise Runners, CloudBees Jenkins, Harness).
• Administer GitHub Enterprise Cloud for scalability, security, and reliability.
• Host and operate enterprise GitHub runners for organization-wide use.
• Provide technical guidance and enablement to development teams.
• Act as a GitHub and Copilot SME, promoting AI-assisted development practices.
• Work in an agile team and participate in code reviews, sprints, and demos.
• Contribute to project plans, schedules, and documentation.
• Deliver technical presentations to technical and business stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties to support platform and engineering.
