Job Opportunity: DevOps Engineer

We have an exciting contract opportunity for a highly experienced DevOps engineer to work with a key client in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining, and managing both on-premise and cloud-based environments to ensure their availability, performance, scalability, and security.

Skills and Experience Required

1. Understanding of DevOps engineering practices.
2. Experience automating build, test, package, release, and configuration management.
3. Proficiency with JIRA, Bitbucket/Git, Team City, Maven, Nexus, and Sonar for automating software delivery.
4. Experience with Terraform and Packer for infrastructure automation.
5. Experience with Chef or Ansible for configuration management automation.
6. Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Korn, or Bash.
7. Experience with AWS and Docker deployment.
8. Knowledge of Linux/UNIX and/or Windows administration.
9. Understanding of ITIL processes and cloud services.
10. Ability to evaluate new technology options and vendor products.
11. Experience establishing POCs to validate client solutions.
12. Ability to produce user guides and documentation for methods and tools.
13. Experience working in an agile environment using Scrum.
14. Additional skills in networking, compute, or storage are a plus.
