Jacobs Engineering Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our Digital & Data team in the United Kingdom. You will design, build and operate cloud-native platforms and delivery pipelines, working with clients, architects and developers to tackle complex challenges.

You will lead DevOps practices, implement IaC with Terraform or AWS CDK, maintain CI/CD with Jenkins, and manage Kubernetes/Docker environments to deliver scalable, secure services across projects.

Qualifications

• Eligible for, or currently holding, SC Security Clearance.
• Experience delivering DevOps or Platform Engineering solutions within agile environments.
• Strong AWS experience, including designing and supporting cloud-native architectures.
• Expertise with IaC using Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and modern source control practices.
• Containerised apps with Kubernetes, Helm and Docker.
• Observability, logging and monitoring practices.
• Secure, resilient and highly available cloud environments.
• Networking, infrastructure and cloud security fundamentals.
• Linux and cloud-hosted deployments; scripting in Bash; Python/TypeScript advantageous.

Here's what you'll need

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, building, automating and optimising cloud-native platforms and delivery pipelines that underpin critical digital services.

• Work within agile, multidisciplinary teams to deliver modern digital services and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate closely with clients, architects, developers and technical stakeholders to solve complex business and technical challenges.
• Champion DevOps culture and engineering excellence, helping teams adopt modern ways of working and continuous improvement practices.
• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable and resilient AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Develop and optimise CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed, reliability and quality.
• Implement observability, monitoring and alerting solutions that provide meaningful operational insights.
• Support cloud adoption, platform modernisation and the migration of legacy workloads.
• Coach and enable client teams, helping them develop DevOps capabilities and best practices.
• Contribute to our thriving Digital & Data community through knowledge sharing, mentoring and continuous learning.

What You'll Bring

• Eligible for, or currently holding, SC Security Clearance.
• Demonstrable experience delivering DevOps or Platform Engineering solutions within agile environments.
• Strong AWS experience, including designing and supporting cloud-native and serverless architectures.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Expertise building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and modern source control practices.
• Experience deploying and managing containerised applications using Kubernetes, Helm and Docker.
• Strong understanding of logging, monitoring and observability practices.
• Experience designing and implementing secure, resilient and highly available cloud environments.
• Working knowledge of networking, infrastructure and cloud security principles.
• Experience supporting application deployments across Linux and cloud-hosted environments.
• Scripting and automation experience using Bash, with Python and/or TypeScript advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience (Nice to have)

• Experience working within large-scale enterprise or multi-cluster Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with Dynatrace monitoring and observability tooling.
• Exposure to government, regulated or security-conscious environments.
• Experience mentoring engineers or helping clients mature DevOps capabilities.
• A growth mindset and genuine enthusiasm for learning emerging technologies and practices.
