Job Overview

Urgently seeking a MOD DV DevOps Engineer in the Bristol area.

The Role

As a DevOps engineer, you will be involved throughout various stages of product development and must stay updated on technological advancements to enhance efficiency. The role requires ensuring all products are highly secure for the end client. The ideal candidate is a skilled mid-level DevOps engineer with leadership qualities and mentoring abilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure using Terraform.
2. Optimize infrastructure for availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
3. Collaborate with software engineers to support application needs.
4. Lead troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure issues.
5. Work with third-party entities on cloud and DevOps projects.
6. Participate in cutting-edge defense programs, including sensor and cloud integration platforms.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
• Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficiency in VPN solutions and overlay services.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and quick thinking.
• Strong communication skills, especially in a defense context.

This position is based in Bristol and requires onsite presence four times a week. Due to the sensitive nature of the projects involving the MOD, MOD DV Clearance is mandatory.
