Job summary

Capgemini in Bath, United Kingdom, is seeking a DevOps/Platform Engineering specialist to lead delivery on projects and enhance infrastructure through code. You will manage cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), Linux, networking, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC, and monitoring to boost availability, scalability and security.

You’ll work across cross-functional teams, define standards, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment as part of Capgemini's culture and growth in digital customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with deploying and automating cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Proficient in Linux system administration (e.g. Ubuntu).
• Strong networking knowledge (load balancers, routing, switching).
• Extensive Kubernetes administration experience (EKS, GKE, or similar).
• Hands-on CI/CD tooling and pipelines (Jenkins, Concourse, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• IaC and configuration management experience (Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
• Experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, Go, Java).
• Monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, ELK).
• Proven ability to work across cross-functional teams with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The DevOps and Platform Engineering capability within Digital Customer Experience is a growing team of people dedicated to ensuring that the technologies selected and the way that they are implemented meet the business objectives of our clients. There are several disciplines within the Digital Customer Experience team: delivery, business, integration and digital architects and technical managers, and many of our people can perform in more than one of these roles.

Your role

Be a leader on delivery projects while working on day-to-day BAU and support tasks. Proactively create and deliver infrastructure as code to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of our internal or customer-facing services

• Lead troubleshooting and problem solving. Help with capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.
• Take the lead contributing and creating new designs, architectures and standards for new projects or solutions to improve current infrastructure.
• Contribute to the stability and security of the environment
• Define process and best practices for reliable and timely delivery and communicate work status regularly with a clear articulation of design choices along the way.

Essentials

• Cloud Platforms - deploying and automation (AWS or Azure)

• CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, Concourse, gitlab-ci, github actions)
• Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (e.g. Terraform , ansible, chef)
• Experience in at least 1 scripting / programming language (e.g. Python, Bash, Go, Java)
• Monitoring and observability tooling (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, ELK)
• Demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Security and compliance tooling (e.g. Trivy scanning, HashiCorp Vault)
• Database administration (SQL/NoSQL)
• Configuration management (e.g. ansible, chef)
• Virtualisation (VMWare)
• Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at multiple levels.
