YOUR ROLE

You will shape, sell and lead high-impact Digital Engineering transformations for major UK and global clients. Working with engineering, product, operations and technology executives, you will turn strategic ambition into executable transformation across operating models, processes, people, data and platforms.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Build trusted relationships with senior client leaders, diagnose complex digital and engineering transformation challenges, and create compelling, outcome-led business cases for change.


• Originate and shape opportunities; lead discovery, proposals, solution design, estimation, presentations and commercial discussions.


• Lead digital engineering strategies, transformation roadmaps and target operating models spanning governance, organization, capability, process, data and technology.


• Direct multidisciplinary consulting and delivery teams from mobilization through implementation and benefits realisation, maintaining quality, pace, risk control and engagement economics.


• Create digital continuity across the product lifecycle, connecting PLM, MBSE, ERP, MES, engineering data and the wider enterprise architecture.


• Define and lead AI-enabled engineering strategies, including generative AI, engineering copilots, machine learning and intelligent automation, integrating them with digital thread, digital twin, simulation and software-defined product approaches to deliver measurable value.


• Shape responsible AI operating models and delivery roadmaps covering use‑case prioritisation, data readiness, architecture, governance, security, human oversight, adoption and value tracking.


• Lead stakeholder alignment and change across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, IT and business functions.


• Grow strategic accounts through client insight, relationship development, follow‑on opportunities and collaboration across Capgemini.


• Build our market presence through propositions, points of view, campaigns, alliances, events and reusable delivery assets.


• Create an inclusive, high‑performing environment; coach colleagues, develop future leaders, and contribute to recruitment and community leadership.

What You'll Bring

• Significant experience in consulting, transformation or a comparable client‑facing leadership role within engineering‑intensive organisations.


• Deep knowledge of product development and engineering operations in one or more sectors such as Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Consumer Products, Energy or Life Sciences.


• Experience designing and implementing engineering transformation, including operating models, process redesign, organisation, governance, capability and technology enablement.


• Working knowledge of PLM and MBSE and their integration with ERP, MES and enterprise data and architecture.


• The ability to translate emerging engineering technology into credible use cases, scaled adoption, and business outcomes.


• Experience identifying, assessing and scaling high‑value AI use cases across the engineering lifecycle, including generative AI, engineering copilots, machine learning and intelligent automation.


• Strong understanding of AI and data foundations, including data quality, knowledge architectures, platform integration, responsible AI governance, privacy, security, model risk and human oversight.


• Proven leadership of complex programmes or workstreams, including mobilisation, governance, change, risk, financial control and benefits realisation.


• Commercial confidence across opportunity qualification, proposition shaping, proposals, estimation and contracting discussions.


• Executive‑level communication and facilitation, with the judgement to simplify complexity, build consensus and challenge constructively.


• A collaborative and inclusive team leadership style, with evidence of coaching, talent development and leading through influence in a matrix environment.


• Relevant qualifications or certifications in systems engineering, Agile, Lean, programme delivery, product lifecycle management or enterprise architecture.


• Experience of regulated, safety‑critical or secure environments.


• Market‑facing thought leadership, proposition development or alliance‑led go‑to‑market activity.


• Evidence of building AI propositions, partnerships or reusable assets and translating AI investment into adoption, productivity, quality, speed and revenue outcomes.
