Job summary

Devon Building Control Partnership in Newton Abbot, Devon, is recruiting an Area Building Control Surveyor to help develop, market and deliver a high-quality Building Control service in line with legislation and corporate priorities.

You will work in a friendly, professional team, processing applications, carrying out site inspections and advising clients, the public and elected Members to ensure performance standards and targets are achieved.

Qualifications

• Have experience in all aspects of the building regulations, the Building Act and allied legislation.
• Be registered with the Building Safety Competence Foundation (BSCF) and licensed at B and B (or in progress/willing to undertake).
• Be a highly committed and accountable team player, customer focussed with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Have a proven ability to work as part of a team providing excellent service to customers whilst ensuring compliance with the building regulations and meeting performance targets in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, marketing and implementation of a high-quality Building Control Service in accordance with legislation, professional standards and corporate priorities.
• Work within a friendly, professional and committed team of Building Control Surveyors processing applications, carrying out site inspections and dealing with dangerous structures as a specialist on Building Control matters.
• Provide high quality advice to our clients, the public, partners and elected Members to ensure that performance standards and business targets are achieved.
