Teignbridge District Council is seeking an Area Building Control Surveyor to join a professional team. You will assist in developing and implementing a high-quality Building Control service, inspecting sites, processing applications and handling dangerous structures.
The role requires knowledge of building regulations and allied legislation, with BSCF registration and B and B licensing (or willingness to undertake). It offers hybrid working with generous terms and a focus on service excellence.

Up to £49,282 per annum (inclusive of Market Forces) (Career graded) (subject to 26/27 pay review)

The Devon Building Control Partnership Area includes areas of outstanding beauty including Dartmoor National Park and the South Hams, along with the Market Towns of Newton Abbot, Okehampton and Tavistock.

As an Area Building Control Surveyor, you will assist in the development, marketing and implementation of a high-quality Building Control Service in accordance with legislation, professional standards and corporate priorities.
You will work within a friendly, professional and committed team of Building Control Surveyors processing applications, carrying out site inspections and dealing with dangerous structures as a specialist on Building Control matters.
You will provide high quality advice to our clients, the public, partners and elected Members to ensure that performance standards and business targets are achieved.
