Intact Insurance UK is seeking a Development Underwriter to support brokers in the South West of England, managing a portfolio of broker relationships through effective business development strategies and collaboration with key stakeholders to achieve growth and profit.

You will lead underwriting activities, develop market insights, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver profitable outcomes. The role offers hybrid working with flexible hours and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience in broker offices negotiating new business and renewals.
• Account management experience.
• Ability to discuss account performance with broker partners.
• Experience in agricultural sector preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Managing the sourcing process for growth within existing partners, new distribution channels, presenting to new clients, securing invitations to tender and negotiating profitable solutions.
• Building and implementing sales strategies for broker panel to deliver sales plans, monitoring monthly performance and developing action plans.
• Providing leadership and direction for the underwriting team to support broker development strategies.
• Maintaining and developing understanding of product market, sector, geography and communicating market developments to internal stakeholders.
