Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland in Telford is seeking a Development Technologist to join our UK R&D team. You will lead product development projects from concept to launch, managing activities through the Product Evolution Process (PEP) and delivering innovative dairy products that meet consumer and business needs.

The role involves recipe development, kitchen and pilot plant trials, shelf-life testing, scale-up support, and close collaboration with production, procurement and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology or related discipline.
• Knowledge of dairy science, processing and nutrition.
• Experience in food or dairy product development is desirable.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
• Passion for food innovation and a creative mindset.
• Effective communicator and team player, able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise recipes, ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, nutritional and legal requirements.
• Create and present new product concepts and conduct kitchen, pilot plant and factory trials.
• Manage product testing, shelf-life studies and project documentation.
• Support scale-up activities and product launches, working closely with production teams.
• Source and approve new ingredients, build supplier relationships and manage briefs.
• Contribute to project planning, risk management, costings and stakeholder updates.
• Ensure all development work complies with Müller standards and relevant legislation.

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
