Job summary

PertempsTM is seeking a Senior/Principal Transport Planner for Bristol, offering hybrid working. You will lead development planning projects, provide transport advice, and engage with authorities and clients to shape planning outcomes.

The role blends technical delivery with project management and client relations, with clear opportunities for progression to Principal and influence on business development.

Qualifications

• Strong UK development planning experience in a consultancy.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and related reports.
• Knowledge of TRICS, TEMPro and junction modelling (Junctions, LinSig).
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills; able to explain complex transport topics clearly.
• Ability to take ownership of projects, manage deadlines and client expectations.
• Collaborative approach with mentoring mindset towards junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead development planning projects from feasibility through planning submission and delivery.
• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and related technical notes.
• Provide transport and access advice to developers and project teams.
• Liaise with planning authorities, highway authorities, clients and consultants.
• Support planning applications, conditions, S106/S278 matters and technical approvals.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, deliverables and client expectations.
• Review technical work and guide junior team members.
• Contribute to growth and development of the transport planning team.
