Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Bristol is seeking a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to lead and support development planning projects from feasibility through to planning and appeal.

You will prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans, advise clients on transport strategy, liaise with planning authorities, and manage budgets while building lasting client relationships and pursuing new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant subject.
• More than five years' experience in UK development planning.
• Committed to working towards chartership.
• Strong technical judgement and clear, confident communication.
• Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships.
• Business development skills, with the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
• An established client base is welcomed but is not essential; track record of winning work or developing relationships is valued.

Principal Transport Planner

Location: Bristol

Salary: £50-60,000 (dependent on experience)

The Opportunity

A well-established transport planning and infrastructure design consultancy is seeking a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to support and lead development planning projects in the Bristol office. The consultancy works with developers, architects and local authorities, and has experience across a wide range of local authority areas and development sectors. Much of its work comes from repeat clients!

The Role

• Lead and support development planning projects from feasibility through to planning and, where required, appeal
• Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Advise clients on transport strategy, helping them maximise the value and deliverability of their schemes
• Liaise with planning authorities, highway authorities and other stakeholders
• Manage projects and budgets, and develop strong, lasting client relationships
• Contribute to business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities

The Candidate

• Degree in a relevant subject
