Job summary

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is looking for a Planning Technician to join the busy Development Management Team at the Civic Offices in Basingstoke.

You will provide administrative and technical support, respond to pre-application enquiries, and advise members of the public on planning matters. You will also assist planning officers with consultations, amended plans, and the discharge of conditions, liaising with developers, agents and applicants.

Qualifications

• Provide administrative and technical support for the Development Management team.
• Respond to pre-application enquiries and provide planning advice to the public.
• Assist planning officers with consultations on applications, pre-and post decision amended plans, and discharge of conditions.

Responsibilities

• Liaise directly with developers, agents and applicants.
• Deliver high quality planning advice in a timely manner and manage workload.
• Report to the Principal Planning Officer and contribute to team performance.
