Job summary

University of Southampton is seeking a Development Officer in the Fundraising team to raise philanthropic income and build relationships with alumni, individuals, and organisations. The role focuses on connecting donors to research and education, managing a varied donor portfolio, and supporting priority programmes including student support, PhD, and medical research.

This Development Officer post in the Fundraising team at the University of Southampton raises philanthropic income for its first university-wide campaign. The work centres on building relationships with alumni, individuals and organisations, cultivating donors and linking them to research. The portfolio covers a student support programme, a PhD programme and medical research, and the role is hybrid. Fundraising experience is one route in, with strong face-to-face relationship-building and persuasive writing the core requirements.
