Job summary

Jobtailor in Glasgow is seeking a senior software delivery lead to manage a team of ~7 developers and technical specialists across Visualfiles/Everyfile and .NET. The role focuses on balancing project delivery with ongoing operational support, while coaching and developing the team to higher performance.

You will drive delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams, ensure quality, governance and security standards, and lead change and automation initiatives in a professional services

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software development teams.
• Ability to balance project delivery with operational support.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
• Experience with Visualfiles/Everyfile is desirable.
• Exposure to or understanding of .NET/C# development.
• Experience in legal, professional services or regulated environments.
• Experience with case or matter management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team of ~7 developers and specialists across Visualfiles/Everyfile and .NET.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support; conduct 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Drive delivery: oversee development projects, system enhancements and production support.
• Prioritise multiple workstreams; balance BAU with strategic projects.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on solution design and best practices.
• Lead release, deployment, testing governance and change controls.
• Foster continuous improvement in tooling, processes and architecture.
• Build strong relationships with IT and business stakeholders; manage vendor/partner relations.

• Lead and Develop the Team
• Manage a team of approximately 7 developers and technical specialists across Visualfiles/Everyfile and .NET
• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and development conversations
• Foster a collaborative, accountable and high-performing team culture
• Support career development and succession planning within the team
• Drive Delivery
• Oversee the delivery of development projects, system enhancements and production support activities
• Prioritise workload across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Balance business-as-usual support with strategic project delivery
• Manage risks, issues and delivery dependenciesEnsure solutions are delivered to agreed quality, performance and security standards
• Provide Technical Leadership
• Act as the technical lead for Visualfiles/Everyfile solutions within the team
• Provide guidance on solution design and development best practice
• Support complex problem solving and technical decision making
• Drive continuous improvement across tooling, processes and solution architecture
• Support Change and Innovation
• Lead release and deployment activities across the team
• Ensure appropriate testing, governance and change controls are in place
• Support the firm's growing focus on automation, workflow optimisation and AI-enabled solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and enhance internal technology platforms
• Build Strong Relationships
• Partner with stakeholders across IT and the wider business to understand requirements and priorities
• Communicate delivery progress, timelines and risks effectively
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and development partners

Requirements

• Essential Experience leading software development teams
• Experience managing multiple competing priorities and workstreams
• Proven ability to balance project delivery with operational support activities
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
• Desirable Strong experience working with Visualfiles/Everyfile
• Exposure to or understanding of .NET / C# development
• Experience within a legal, professional services or regulated environment
