Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate (Development Management) to lead technical delivery of development management, masterplanning, and related local plan projects. You will act as Project Director for DevMan schemes, manage budgets, and oversee staff reviews across the team.

The role involves coordinating with sector directors, planning applications and EIAs, and preparing fee proposals for clients to drive revenue and margin delivery. Strong leadership and bid experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer status or membership is desirable.
• Experience with private and public sector Development Control/Development Management.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff and develop team skills.
• Ability to scope, manage internal technical supply chains (budgets, programme, quality).
• Experience contributing to bids and tenders.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of development management local plan and masterplanning projects.
• Act as Project Director for DevMan projects across the business.
• Project manage schemes with control over project budgets.
• Manage staff in the review of Planning Applications, Local Plans, EIAs and outline/preliminary design.
• Ensure deliverables are technically accurate and compliant with standards.
• Produce scheme deliverables and fee proposals for clients.
• Coordinate across Directors to identify opportunities and manage resources.
