Mabey Hire is seeking a Development Engineering Manager to lead the Development Engineering Team in Ashton-in-Makerfield, UK. You will own the product development roadmap, ensure technical governance, and drive continuous improvement across the product range.

Working with the Engineering Director, you will ensure products are safe, compliant, commercially effective and scalable, aligning engineering with customer and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Owning the product development roadmap, from concept through to delivery
• Leading and developing the Development Engineering Team (direct and indirect reports)
• Driving innovation and continuous improvement across the product range
• Providing technical oversight, including checking approaches and ensuring engineering consistency
• Ensuring all products are supported by high-quality, accurate technical documentation
• Managing product investigations, driving root cause analysis and improvements
• Embedding commercial thinking into all product decisions (cost, utilisation, scalability)
• Working cross-functionally to align engineering with customer and business needs
• Representing Mabey Hire externally with clients and industry bodies where required
