Job summary

FFE Ltd in Cambridge seeks a Development Engineer to perform technical research, prototype testing, and engineering analysis under senior guidance. The role involves evaluating technologies, benchmarking products, analyzing data, bench testing, and communicating findings to the team.

You will collaborate with development and production engineers to deliver robust solutions and maintain awareness of evolving technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in engineering, product development, R&D, manufacturing, or technical investigations.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing and data analysis skills required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical research, prototype testing and engineering analysis under senior guidance.
• Evaluate and benchmark competitor products and relevant technologies.
• Analyze results and provide evidence-based recommendations.
• Bench test, fault finding and root-cause analysis of product/system behavior.
• Produce technical records and reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development and production teams to deliver robust solutions.
• Demonstrate ownership and initiative in assigned technical work.
• Stay aware of technologies, product developments and best practices.
