Job Opportunity: Development Engineer

Constructive Moves is recruiting a Development Engineer for a leading national housing developer that specializes in traditional housing developments across East Anglia.

The Technical Department is very busy, so this role is ideally suited for an Engineer experienced in volume housing schemes, whether from a consultancy or housing developer background.

This position plays a key role within the technical team, overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants involved in project management and the administration of technical and design matters for various residential projects.

It is essential for the successful candidate to be adaptable, with a strong and consistent management approach to overseeing external consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in producing layouts and technical reports for land appraisals and required working drawings.
2. Brief and commission site investigations, topographical surveys, and other assessment reports on land acquired.
3. Brief engineering consultants on the scope of design, including roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, external levels, foundation designs, and other substructures below DPC level, whether private or adopted.
4. Engage in initial negotiations and enquiries with statutory bodies and utility companies regarding environmental, drainage, highways, and other engineering issues during land appraisal.
5. Coordinate and procure utility infrastructure and utility diversions.
