Job summary

Brackenberry Ltd in Barnet is seeking an experienced Development Control Engineer to support highways development control activities, including assessing planning applications and ensuring new highway infrastructure meets standards. The role is a 12-month contract with potential extension at the client's discretion.

You will review highway designs, manage Section 38/278/184 agreements, negotiate with developers, and conduct site inspections while supporting highway adoption and asset management.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience of at least 2 years.
• Experience with Section 38 and Section 278 schemes.
• Knowledge of highways legislation, policies and standards.
• Experience supervising contractors and monitoring highway works.

Job description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Development Control Engineer, on a 12-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion.

Rate of Pay: £24.41 - £32.20 per hour

Summary

An experienced Development Control Engineer is required to support highways development control activities, including assessing planning applications, managing highway agreements and ensuring new highway infrastructure is delivered to the required standards.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' post-graduate experience
• Significant experience with Section 38 and Section 278 schemes
• Strong knowledge of highways legislation, policies and standards
• Experience supervising contractors and monitoring highway works
• Experience in highways development management or civil engineering
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel throughout the borough
