SRG is working with an industry-leading manufacturer and marketer of personal & home care aerosols based in Scotland. They are now looking for a Development Chemist to join the NPD team. This is a varied role, meaning no two days will look the same. You would be developing and formulating new products from concept to production, line extensions, manufacturing, and scaling up samples, as well as preparation and analysis of samples using wet chemistry testing while ensuring regulatory compliance on all projects. This role would suit candidates with 3+ years of industrial experience in the personal care and home care sector.

Working hours: Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm, 45-hour week

Role / Description

• Formulation and development of new and existing product lines
• Manage the development process from the lab through to scale-up and delivery
• Work with the team to sign off artwork, specifications, and performance/stability testing on products
• Review of raw materials to ensure products retain a competitive edge in the market
• Participate in client calls, briefs, meetings, and site visits from potential clients
• Collaborate as a cross-functional team member, communicating effectively with different departments within the company
• Conduct various tests on products using wet chemistry, stability, and performance testing

Requirements

• Degree in Chemistry or Cosmetic Science
• 3+ years’ experience in formulating and developing personal care and home care products
• Knowledge of detergents/cosmetic regulations
• Recent experience working in a busy lab environment
• Full right to work in the UK – No sponsorship available for this role
