Our client, a large Aerospace and Defence supplier, is looking for a Production Test Engineer to join them on a contract basis at their site in Stevenage.

Our client, a large Aerospace and Defence supplier, is looking for a Production Test Engineer to join them on a contract basis at their site in Stevenage.
- Applicants must hold British nationality and be eligible to obtain SC Clearance due to the nature of the work.
- 12-month initial contract.
Role responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for manufacturing tests of weapons sub-systems in production and development, including diagnostics of complex weapons at system and subsystem levels.
- Support Test Engineering during design and development phases, from initial concept to Production Readiness Review and release to operations.
- Assist in the introduction of test facilities, ensuring configuration control and generating test specifications and operator instructions.
- Support testing of electrical/electronic weapon systems and sub-assemblies, diagnosing failures down to circuit card and component levels.
- Identify remedial and corrective actions to maintain production flow in line with the program schedule.
- Evaluate technical problems and develop proposals for test equipment investigations and process improvements.
- Represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Board meetings to facilitate the progress of equipment and quality notifications.
Skills, training, and qualifications required:
- HNC/HND in Electronics or equivalent, with experience in digital and analogue electronics testing and manufacturing.
- Understanding of measurement principles and test equipment.
- Knowledge of the CADMID product lifecycle for test equipment is desirable.
- Understanding of RF and microwave technology at the subsystem level is advantageous, as is knowledge of environmental testing (including ESS).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work to meet project objectives.
- Manual handling training.
