Job summary

FIS is looking for an experienced UNIX/C developer to join their financial technology team in London. You will participate in all phases of product development, support, and implementation while interacting with customers for analysis and on-site support as travel allows.

You will work in an Agile, collaborative environment, deploying to AWS/Azure, using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools. Strong English communication and 3 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in C language development for UNIX environments.
• Experience with Red Hat Linux and UNIX scripting (Bash, Perl).
• Knowledge of code repositories and CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle).
• Deployments to AWS and Azure; familiarity with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 3 years of professional software development experience with relational databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; good communication in English.

About the team:

You will be involved in developing and supporting existing innovative financial technology solutions. You will be involved in offering solutions to major financial institutions across Europe, directly interacting with the customer for analysis and support of software systems. Occasional travel to offer on-site support is expected.

What you will be doing:

• Participate in all phases of product development, support, and implementation.
• Actively participate in the relevant rituals (Planning Meeting, Stand-up, Retrospective, Story tells, etc.) and build a good knowledge of the functional domain.
• Develop new and enhance existing features for the product in a qualitative manner.

What you bring:

• UNIX; Red Hat Linux; ANSI C/C++ for UNIX; Bash programming; PERL Programming; PL/SQL.
• Knowledge of Git, Maven/Gradle, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Sub version, or equivalent code repositories an advantage.
• Deployments to AWS and Azure (FIS development and client environments).
• 3 years of experience, a strong foundation in C language development with working knowledge of relational databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated.
• Enthusiastic, team-building attitude, good communication skills.
• Willing to work in an Agile, collaborative environment.
• Good verbal and written English skills.
• Willingness for travel as required.
