Job summary

Mondelēz International in the United Kingdom is seeking a Packaging Development & Engineering professional to drive end-to-end packaging for our biscuits and chocolate portfolio. You will translate consumer needs into packaging requirements and manage trials from concept to shelf.

You will collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, procurement and suppliers, conduct lab tests, analyse performance and ensure projects meet timeline and budget while maintaining high quality and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Packaging, Food Science, or related field.
  • 2–3 years’ experience ideally within fast moving consumer goods or consumer packaging goods environment.
  • Strong interest in packaging design, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Project management and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; proactive and solution-oriented.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete Packaging Design and Packaging Deployment for Innovation/Growth projects and productivity projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.

How you will contribute

With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks. You will plan and conduct activities to generate appropriate packaging information, using sampling and supplier management, and pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements. In this role, you will plan and conduct process development activities (e.g. packaging design and specifications, packaging scale up, commissioning etc.) and help with planning and the effective use of resources, including the use of external agencies. You will also create technical reports, which will require your skills in analysis and interpretation of results that will lead to conclusions and recommendations; create and maintain accurate packaging specifications; and create intellectual property to drive our competitive advantage.

The Opportunity

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Packaging, Food Science, or related field.

  • Project management and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – CAD software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring precision and excellence in all aspects of design and specification.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive projects forward.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate curiosity by staying current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to bring fresh thinking to the team.

Travel Requirements

The candidate must have availability to occasional travel within MEU (depending on project requirements).

Important: this is a fixed-term contract from September or October/2026 until December/2027.
