Job summary

Melton Borough Council is seeking a motivated and detail-focused professional to lead the monitoring and management of developer contributions, ensuring that funds secured through the planning system support essential infrastructure for residents.

You will work with planning, finance and legal teams to ensure contributions are collected, monitored and spent effectively, supporting improvements to schools, highways, open spaces and community facilities across the borough.

Qualifications

• Experience with planning contributions (Section 106) or CIL is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret financial information and statutory requirements.
• Experience in local government or public sector environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Council's developer contributions monitoring systems and records.
• Track legal obligations, payment triggers and infrastructure delivery requirements.
• Work closely with planning, finance, legal and service teams to ensure contributions are collected and allocated appropriately.
• Build strong working relationships with developers, infrastructure providers and partner organisations.
• Produce reports and performance information for senior officers, councillors and external stakeholders.
• Help shape the Council's future approach to developer contributions, infrastructure planning and funding.
