Role:
The BI Developer / Data Engineer will support the delivery and ongoing development of the Enterprise Data Platform and wider BI estate. The role will involve building reliable, scalable data solutions across SQL Server, Microsoft BI, Azure Data Factory, API integrations, Microsoft Fabric and modern data engineering technologies. The role requires a hands‑on, delivery‑focused individual who can work across established BI platforms and newer cloud‑based data services, while applying good engineering, testing, governance and deployment practices.
Key Aspects of the role:
- Work with business users and the BI team to deliver BI, DWH and EDP solutions that meet business needs.
- Build and enhance ETL/ELT processes using SQL Server, SSIS, Azure Data Factory and related cloud services.
- Support API-based integrations, with Workday integration experience considered good to have.
- Contribute to data snapshotting, Parquet-based storage and Fabric/lakehouse development where required.
- Apply good engineering practices, including source control, testing, peer review, monitoring and controlled deployments.
- Identify, investigate and resolve data quality, pipeline and reporting issues in a timely manner.
- Previous experience working with finance and/or insurance data, with a good understanding of how data is sourced, prepared, integrated, governed and consumed across finance platforms, data warehouses, reporting solutions and downstream business processes.

- Support the delivery of agreed DWH, EDP and BI development work in line with existing standards and priorities.
- Assigned development tasks are delivered to agreed quality, timelines and release standards.
- Design and develop semantic models, reports, dashboards and visualisations.
- Solutions are unit tested, system tested and aligned to agreed reporting standards.
- Develop expert SQL, database objects, Python and pipeline logic for data ingestion, transformation and business data processing.
- Code is peer reviewed, unit tested and system tested before release.
- Design changes in line with business requirements, technical standards and agreed delivery priorities.
- Designs are delivered to agreed standards and timescales, with peer review completed where required.
- Develop and enhance ETL/ELT components across SQL Server, SSIS, ADF and Fabric where appropriate.
- ETL/ELT components are tested, documented and deployed through agreed release processes.
- Carry out data analysis to support new solution designs and data quality improvements.
- Analysis outputs support design, development, reconciliation and decision‑making.
- Takes responsibility for their own and colleagues’ Health & Safety at all times Statutory, personal and Company Health & Safety policy regulations are adhered to.
- To ensure customers are treated fairly at all times, in accordance with the Conduct Risk Policy and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Compliance with applicable Regulatory Requirements and Lloyd’s Minimum Standards (where applicable) and Antares Global policies and procedures Satisfactory performance as reflected in relevant Conduct Risk.

- Adherence to Antares Global policies and procedures in relation to GDPR To avoid breaches and to report them to the Data Protection Officer when they occur, regardless of media.
