Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Risk and Assurance Officer in Newcastle-upon-Tyne to join the Detention Services Security Team. The role supports intelligence, security, use of force, health and safety and safety across the detention estate.

The position involves shift working, on-call duties and regular travel to IRCs, with potential office/home-based arrangements where possible.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking security reviews of IRCs to test physical and procedural security.
• Supporting security and intelligence processes, including handling referrals and maintaining registers.
• Collating, reviewing and analysing operational intelligence to inform decision-making and senior management.
• Conducting impartial assessments of use of force incidents and delivering evidence-based feedback for policy compliance.
• Maintaining knowledge of UoF techniques through training and delivering awareness sessions.
