Job summary

Angard Recruitment are recruiting Despatch Control Managers to support Royal Mail’s peak operation at Milton Keynes Parcel Sort Centre, MK17 8EW, from the end of October. You will report to the Parcel Sort Centre/Optimisation manager and lead the transport and distribution operations within the PSC.

This role requires leading shift teams, maintaining safe, compliant operations, managing despatch bays and vehicle movements, and maximising network efficiency across Early, Late and Night shifts

Qualifications

• Experience in transport, logistics or distribution operations.
• Strong IT literacy and ability to use reporting tools.
• Knowledge of compliance, safety and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Managing transport and distribution operations within the PSC.
• Maintaining safe, compliant and legal operations.
• Managing despatch bays and vehicle movements.
• Ensuring planned network departures and Move-to-Time compliance.
• Maximising vehicle utilisation and load fill.
• Managing contractor driver attendance and escalation of no-shows.
• Monitoring operational performance and implementing corrective actions.
• Leading and motivating operational teams on shift.
• Managing risks, contingencies and service failures.
• Supporting delivery of the operational work plan during peak periods.
