Job summary

Albert Bartlett is recruiting a Despatch Team Leader for our Boston site in Lincolnshire. The role runs a 4 days on, 4 days off rolling shift from 06:00 to 18:00, with a pay rate of £14.49 per hour.

You will lead the despatch team, plan loads with hauliers and ensure loads are dispatched accurately and on time. Experience in a warehouse/manufacturing setting, valid forklift license, and strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid Forklift Truck License is required.
• Previous forklift experience in warehouse/manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to lead, motivate and organise a team.
• Good communication and collaborative approach.
• Physical fitness for lifting and moving heavy items.

Responsibilities

• Manage workload of the despatch team on the relevant shift to ensure efficient operations.
• Liaise with the Despatch Manager and Production Manager/Shift Leader as required to cover tasks.
• Ensure loads are built and despatched correctly by managing staff in the department.
• Check paperwork to ensure all loads are despatched accurately.
• Ensure loads are labelled correctly and despatched with the correct paperwork.
• Highlight training and resource needs within the team to management.
• Communicate issues with loading to the Supply Chain.
• Coordinate with production on shortages and production plans for efficient dispatch.
• Ensure a clean working environment within the department.
• Take delivery notes in accordance with the relevant SO.
• Create and agree load plans with external hauliers for timely despatch.
• Liaise with hauliers to ensure timely despatch of loads.

We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Team Leader at our potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire.

Shift & Hours of work: 4 days on, 4 days off - Rolling shift, working 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs

Salary: £14.49 per hour

Responsibilities

• Manage workload of the despatch team on the relevant shift to ensure skills are spread correctly to ensure all aspects of the despatch operation run efficiently

• Liaise with the Despatch Manager and Production Manager/Shift Leader/Manager as required to ensure any other tasks are covered such as loading / unloading of equipment

• Ensure loads are built and despatched correctly by managing staff in the department

• Check paperwork to ensure all loads are despatched accurately

• Ensure all loads are labelled correctly and are despatched with the correct paperwork

• Highlight training and resource needs within the team to your Manager and Production management teams

• Communicate issues with loading to the Supply Chain

• Communicate with production team on shortages and production plans to enable an efficient despatch operation

• Ensure a clean working environment at all times within the dept

• Be proficient to take the delivery notes in accordance with the relevant SO.

• Create and agree load plans with external hauliers to ensure product is despatched in a timely manner

• Liaise with hauliers to ensure loads are despatched as required.

• Valid Forklift Truck License is required.

• Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing setting is preferred.

• Ability to lead, motivate and organise a team.

• Good communication skills and collaborative approach
