Job summary

Banham Poultry (2018) Limited is seeking an experienced Despatch Manager to lead a busy warehouse and despatch operation, ensuring orders are picked, loaded, and dispatched safely, accurately and on time.

You will work closely with Production, Planning, Transport and other departments to maintain high standards of food safety, quality and health & safety while developing a high-performing team. This role requires a hands-on, proactive leader in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing a warehouse, despatch or logistics operation.
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or another fast-paced operational environment.
• A proven ability to lead, coach and develop teams.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Experience managing KPIs and driving operational improvements.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Despatch Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the Despatch department, ensuring products are picked, loaded, and dispatched safely, efficiently, and accurately.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Transport, and other departments, you'll make sure customer orders leave site on time while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and health & safety.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading, motivating, and developing the Despatch management and warehouse teams.


• Creating a positive culture where people feel supported, engaged, and accountable.


• Ensuring customer orders are dispatched accurately and on schedule.


• Driving operational performance, productivity, and service levels.

• Working collaboratively with other departments to achieve business objectives.


• Managing labour planning, training, and performance.


• Leading continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience managing a warehouse, despatch or logistics operation.


• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or another fast-paced operational environment.

• Strong organisational and planning skills.


• Experience managing KPIs and driving operational improvements.


• A good understanding of warehouse operations, stock control and customer service.


• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality standards.


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.


• A proactive, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
