Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Westerleigh, UK, is seeking a motivated Despatch General Operative to join our busy warehouse and logistics team. This hands-on role involves preparing, loading and dispatching goods for outbound delivery, with a focus on accurate picking, scanning and safe loading.

You will work on a Monday to Friday pattern with training provided. The role is permanent and full-time, offering development opportunities in a leading UK food manufacturing company.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, logistics or dispatch experience is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Basic computer skills and confidence using handheld scanning devices.
• Commitment to Health & Safety standards.
• Comfortable working in a chilled environment (4°C).
• Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends when required.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience operating a forklift or PPT is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Load outbound vehicles with prepared goods.
• Operate forklifts and electric pallet trucks (PPT) safely and efficiently.
• Scan products using handheld devices to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Complete load sheets and dispatch paperwork accurately.
• Carry out stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
• Perform daily safety checks on equipment before use.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised loading bay environment.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and warehouse guidelines.
• Support the team in meeting daily dispatch targets.

Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a motivated and reliable Despatch General Operative to join our busy Despatch team at Westerleigh. This is a hands‑on role within our warehouse and logistics operation, where you will be responsible for preparing, loading and dispatching goods for outbound delivery.
