Location: Cardiff, Maes-Y-Coed Road, Cardiff CF14 4XR

Shift: 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, 6am - 6pm

Our Memory Lane Cakes site is one of our cake bakeries within Finsbury Food Group. We make a large percentage of the UK's sharing cakes, from retailer own brands, tray bakes, to party cakes like Caterpillar cakes. The site employs over 850 people and runs 24/7, fostering a culture of teamwork, friendly and respectful leadership, and continuous improvement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Despatch Supervisor in our Supply Chain team at the Memory Lane Cakes site in Cardiff. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong delegation and people management skills, who thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and is ready to take ownership of the finished goods dispatch process.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end process for finished goods, including overseeing goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Delegate tasks to team members and supervise daily warehouse operations.
• Ensure timely unloading and loading of vehicles, maintaining accurate documentation.
• Uphold standards in food safety, legality, GMP, and safety protocols.
• Manage stock control and rotation to minimize the risk of out-of-date or low-code products.
• Plan resources effectively, monitor staff holidays, and ensure adequate coverage.
• Identify and escalate departmental issues promptly.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and processes.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in warehouse supervision or management.
• Detail-oriented with strong decision-making and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communicator with delegation and people management abilities.
• Confident in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
• CILT qualifications or equivalent (desirable).
• English and Maths qualifications (essential).
